Job Requirements

  • At least six months prior food service experience preferred
  • Compassion for elderly residents
  • Ability to work responsibly as a team member and individually
  • Honesty, fairness, dependability, and respect for confidentiality
  • Effective communication with residents, families, and staff
  • Meet all health requirements
  • Pass criminal background check
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
  • ServSafe Manager certification as applicable

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Prior experience in a food service role especially with elderly populations
  • Supervisory experience desirable
  • Strong knowledge of special diets and food safety protocols
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals according to daily and weekly menus including special diets
  • Oversee meal preparation and direct kitchen staff as needed
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines strictly
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to understand residents' dietary needs
  • Operate cooking and dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
  • Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries correctly
