Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum two years formal culinary training program with degree or equivalent experience
  • food service background in upscale restaurants, private clubs, and/or hotels preferred
  • knowledge of kitchen sanitation procedures
  • ability to follow standardized recipes
  • capability to work scheduled shifts including weekends
  • ability to follow safety and hygiene standards
  • valid food handler certification preferred
  • reliable physical attendance
  • adherence to dress code and personal hygiene standards
  • commitment to confidentiality and respect towards residents
  • ability to comply with facility policies and code of conduct

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare all soups, stocks, and sauces
  • boil, braise, and roast items as per standardized recipes
  • prepare and serve sauteed, fried, grilled, steamed, pureed, and baked items
  • maintain hot food line and service to residents
  • ensure proper food temperatures and quality
  • communicate entree choices and dish up food with proper portions and plate appearance
  • respond with respect and hospitality to customers including leadership and residents
  • prepare salads, desserts, and baked items per recipes
  • follow food production sheets to meet meal serving hours
  • complete paperwork and clean equipment
  • assist with kitchen sanitation
  • monitor, teach, redirect, and discipline production and service staff
  • participate in pre-service meetings and daily menu planning
  • comply with dietary restrictions and physician orders
  • follow safety regulations per MSDS and HACCP guidelines
  • maintain workstation hygiene
  • attend in-service training
  • identify safety hazards and emergencies and initiate appropriate actions
  • comply with code of conduct
  • work under intense time pressure
  • maintain confidentiality of residents
  • model and support facility expectations
  • adhere to employee handbook policies including prohibition of workplace violence and discrimination
