Job Duties

  • Prepare food in a safe and sanitary manner in accordance with hospital and regulatory procedures
  • Follow production sheets and recipes to ensure diet compliance, portion control, food cost control
  • Keep work area clean and sanitary at all times
  • Read recipes and production sheets to prepare foods according to standards
  • Wash, slice, and dice ingredients necessary for food preparation
  • Measure ingredients accurately
  • Set temperatures and cook times of production equipment
  • Determine doneness of food items
  • Use proper portioning equipment to portion food
  • Maintain food temperatures during preparation and holding
  • Clean and sanitize work area
  • Work weekends, holidays, and rotations as required
  • Lift and push carts up to 50 lbs
  • Perform prolonged standing, frequent bending, walking, reaching, and repetitive motions
