Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous line cook experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience as a line cook preferred (Italian cuisine a plus)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen with a focus on precision and consistency
  • Strong knife skills and understanding of culinary techniques
  • Knowledge of proper sanitation and food safety standards
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Availability on nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to Vita Bella standards for quality, presentation, and timing
  • Maintain deep understanding of all menu items, ingredients, flavor profiles, and dietary requirements
  • Follow proper recipes, portion controls, and plating guides consistently
  • Assist with tableside preparation components (fresh pasta, sauces, garnishes) as needed
  • Set up, stock, and maintain a clean, organized station during service
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including prep, stock rotation, labeling, and cleaning
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with the culinary team and expo to ensure smooth service flow
  • Adhere to safe food handling practices and all health regulations
  • Work collaboratively with chefs and fellow cooks to execute a seamless high-volume dinner service
  • Take direction well and be able to adapt quickly to menu changes and special requests
  • Uphold a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence
