Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience working in a kitchen line preferred
  • Valid food handlers card required
  • Compliance with local and state health regulations
  • Ability to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance
  • Ability to follow safety standards and brand guidelines
  • Willingness to complete required training and attend meetings
  • Eligible to work in the United States as verified through E-Verify

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED preferred
  • Previous kitchen line experience preferred
  • Possess knowledge of food and beverage operations in restaurants or hotels
  • Skilled in using kitchen hand tools and machines
  • Ability to read and follow recipes accurately
  • Strong measurement and cutting skills
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic and shop geometry for material calculations
  • Responsible for accuracy of work
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehending English
  • Ability to communicate in other languages is a plus
  • Quick thinking and problem-solving skills for guest issues
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Job Duties

  • Read menu to estimate food requirements and order food from supplier or procure it from storage
  • Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, boilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment such as blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the kitchen staff
  • Clean up station and manage waste
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure all food items are properly dated and stored
  • Maintain inventory and temperature logs
  • Ensure food is prepared simultaneously, in high quality and timely manner
  • Comply with nutrition, sanitation regulations, and safety standards
  • Maintain positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Adhere to safety and brand standards
  • Respond to guest requests and complaints timely and professionally
  • Maintain professional image through appearance and dress
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Operate kitchen in compliance with federal, state, and local laws including OSHA, EEOC, wage and hour, and health codes
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
