Job Requirements
- Previous experience preferred
- Must be ServSafe certified within one year of employment
- Hampton Roads Fats, Oil, and Grease training certification required
- Ability to work full-time
- Effective communication skills
- Capability to handle multiple food preparation tasks
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines and regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in institutional food preparation desirable
- ServSafe certification within one year of employment
- Hampton Roads Fats, Oil, and Grease (HR F.O.G.) certification required
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Job Duties
- Prepare hot and cold food items including vegetables, salads, baked goods, proteins, and desserts
- Work with special diets and assemble assorted diet foods, including mechanically altered and other dietary requirement meals
- Serve meals in the resident dining area ensuring proper portioning and presentation
- Prepare next day meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Assist with catered and special event food preparation
- Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with kitchen and care staff to meet resident dietary needs
