Job Requirements
- Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Minimum 1 year cooking experience in related environment
- Knowledge of soups, sauté, broiler, fry and pantry cooking
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist and stand to perform job functions
- Frequent exposure to working with water, chemicals and sharp utensils
- Ability to work in hot environments
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year closely related cooking experience
- Knowledge of HACCP standards and food safety
- Experience in high-volume, casual dining restaurant preferred
- Ability to follow recipes and menus accurately
- Capability to communicate effectively with team members and customers
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, twist for extended periods
Job Duties
- Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts
- Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records
- Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
- Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices complying with HACCP standards
- Operate a variety of kitchen equipment
- Measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables
- Stock, date, rotate and check temperature of products
