Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- ability to read and write English
- basic math skills
- two to three years of food production experience in an institutional setting preferred
- ability to work evening shifts
- ability to work in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, noise, and chemicals
- physical ability to perform cooking duties and stand for extended periods

Job Duties
- Reviewing menus and production schedules regularly to determine food types and quantities
- measuring, weighing, and combining ingredients for food preparation according to recipes
- cooking regular and diet menu items following established procedures
- ensuring timely preparation of menu items and advanced preparation of food for scheduled meals
- monitoring food consumption and adjusting production levels to avoid shortages or surpluses
- organizing and overseeing work of Food Service Worker for meal preparation
- inspecting food storage areas, ensuring proper food storage to prevent spoilage
- stocking refrigerators, freezers, and cabinets as needed
- completing and filing daily temperature reports and checklists
- maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, counters, utensils, and work areas
- monitoring food inventories and requisitioning supplies from storeroom as necessary
- calling in work orders for equipment repairs when needed
