Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a cooking role preferred
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Manual dexterity required

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cooking experience in a professional kitchen preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Manual dexterity and good auditory and visual capabilities

Job Duties

  • Inspect and clean food preparation and serving areas to ensure safety and sanitation
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating kitchen equipment
  • Monitor freshness and quality of food by rotating stock and following labeling procedures
  • Cook and prepare foods using methods such as tasting and use of food thermometers
  • Prepare stations according to company guidelines
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam various foods including meats, fish, and vegetables
  • Season, measure, and mix ingredients following recipes
  • Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables
  • Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for service
  • Bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries
  • Clean cooking equipment such as pots, pans, and utensils
  • Maintain records of food usage
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Follow food specification amounts and assist in forecasting preparation needs
  • Serve food to customers in a timely manner
  • Support culinary staff across stations as needed
  • Communicate kitchen equipment and supply needs with supervisors
  • Adhere to safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform, and productivity standards
  • Provide excellent customer service by being attentive and approachable
  • Perform other duties as assigned
