Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Food safety certification required within three months
  • One year of relevant food production experience required
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Compliance with all food safety policies and procedures
  • Eligibility and willingness to complete food safety certification if not already obtained

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Food safety certification required or obtained within three months of hire
  • Minimum one year of relevant food production experience
  • Specialized culinary training or institutional/retail cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines accurately
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items according to menu specifications and dietary guidelines
  • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Monitor food inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed
  • Adhere strictly to food safety standards and regulations including obtaining food safety certification within three months
  • Collaborate with dietary and nursing staff to meet patient dietary needs
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of new kitchen staff
  • Maintain accurate records of food preparation and waste
