Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Food safety certification required within three months
- One year of relevant food production experience required
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Compliance with all food safety policies and procedures
- Eligibility and willingness to complete food safety certification if not already obtained
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Food safety certification required or obtained within three months of hire
- Minimum one year of relevant food production experience
- Specialized culinary training or institutional/retail cooking experience preferred
- Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines accurately
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
Job Duties
- Prepare food items according to menu specifications and dietary guidelines
- Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas
- Monitor food inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed
- Adhere strictly to food safety standards and regulations including obtaining food safety certification within three months
- Collaborate with dietary and nursing staff to meet patient dietary needs
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new kitchen staff
- Maintain accurate records of food preparation and waste
