Job Requirements
- Previous cooking experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
- Must be able to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
- Ability to follow safety and hygiene protocols
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
- Reliable transportation to the BD Salt Lake location

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous cooking experience preferred but not required
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Commitment to safety and food handling standards
- Willingness to learn and improve culinary skills
Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains accurate records
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
- Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized, ensuring proper food and supply storage
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting
- Assists in ordering and receiving food and supplies
- Reports maintenance issues or accidents immediately
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, and managers
- Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures according to HACCP standards
- Adheres to company policies including the use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes
- Commits personally to safety practices
