Job Requirements

  • Previous batch cooking experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work full-time schedule including rotating weekends
  • Willingness to adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Capacity to perform physical tasks associated with food preparation and kitchen maintenance
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures
  • Reliable and punctual with strong work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • Previous batch cooking experience
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
  • Serve meals using correct portioning and ensure food is at the correct temperature and visually appealing
  • Use established ticket collection procedures during service
  • Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintain cleanliness standards
  • Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in refrigerators and storerooms
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting
  • Assist in ordering and receiving food and supplies
  • Report maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents promptly
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
  • Ensure personal and team adherence to safety standards and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
