Job Requirements

- No prior experience necessary
- Current or to be obtained ServSafe Allergen and Food Handler Certifications within 30 days of hire
- Ability to maintain food safety and hygiene standards
- Capability to work full time in a healthcare food service setting
- Willingness to perform diverse food service and utility tasks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current ServSafe Allergen and Food Handler Certifications or certification obtained within 30 days of hire
- Ability to follow detailed food safety guidelines and procedures
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and dietary requirements
- Ability to perform multiple tasks including cashiering, serving, and cleaning
- Effective communication skills and team collaboration
Job Duties
- Follows healthcare food service industry standards including food temperature monitoring and preventing cross contamination
- Prepares and serves food according to menu and dietary requirements using appropriate kitchen utensils and equipment
- Maintains knowledge of recipe ingredients to respond to food allergy inquiries
- Ensures proper meal portioning and aesthetically pleasing presentation
- Performs cashiering and retail serving duties
- Assembles, delivers, and retrieves patient trays
- Conducts cold food preparation and utility assignments including dishwashing and cleaning equipment
- Supports catering functions and inventory maintenance
- Performs general cleaning of work areas and equipment
