Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • relevant culinary or food safety certifications
  • prior cooking experience in a senior living, healthcare, or similar setting
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • physical stamina to handle lifting and carrying heavy kitchen items
  • adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
  • availability to work a part-time second shift including weekends
  • pass a pre-employment drug screen

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • culinary school or relevant certification preferred
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification
  • proven experience as a cook, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting
  • strong culinary skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines
  • ability to adapt to changing menus and resident dietary needs
  • excellent communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Provide excellence in service
  • collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development
  • adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations including HACCP principles
  • maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • ensure all kitchen equipment is in working condition
  • work cooperatively with kitchen staff and servers
  • prepare meals meeting dietary needs of residents
