Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- relevant culinary or food safety certifications
- prior cooking experience in a senior living, healthcare, or similar setting
- ability to stand for long periods
- physical stamina to handle lifting and carrying heavy kitchen items
- adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- availability to work a part-time second shift including weekends
- pass a pre-employment drug screen
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- culinary school or relevant certification preferred
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification
- proven experience as a cook, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting
- strong culinary skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines
- ability to adapt to changing menus and resident dietary needs
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- Provide excellence in service
- collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development
- adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations including HACCP principles
- maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- ensure all kitchen equipment is in working condition
- work cooperatively with kitchen staff and servers
- prepare meals meeting dietary needs of residents
