Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Age over 18 years
- Background clearance as required by government regulations
- Retain a current Food Handlers permit
- Minimum two years of cooking experience
- Negative TB test results
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to speak, write, and read English
- Ability to operate computer, necessary software programs (word, email, excel), scanners, copiers, and fax machines
- Ability to be professional at all times with other team members, residents, family members, and visitors
- Must be able to lift and push 50 lbs
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout day and throughout community
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Job Qualifications

- Professional demeanor when interacting with team members, residents, family, and visitors
Job Duties
- Prepare all food items according to planned menus and recipes ensuring meals are appetizing, nutritional, and meet special dietary requests
- Ensure all food is served at the correct temperature and properly charted
- Ensure proper plate presentation
- Consult with the Director of Dining Services on menu changes or substitutions
- Maintain clean and organized food storage areas
- Prepare food in compliance with government, sanitary, and dietitian regulations
- Take care of food orders promptly upon arrival
- Dispose of food and waste according to policy
- Properly store, label, and date all leftovers
- Record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
- Supervise servers and dishwashers as needed
- Prepare upcoming menu items ensuring proper stock and inventory
- Promote a positive and friendly team attitude
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
