Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Age over 18 years
Background clearance as required by government regulations
Retain a current Food Handlers permit
Minimum two years of cooking experience
Negative TB test results
Excellent communication skills including the ability to speak, write, and read English
Ability to operate computer, necessary software programs (word, email, excel), scanners, copiers, and fax machines
Ability to be professional at all times with other team members, residents, family members, and visitors
Must be able to lift and push 50 lbs
Must be able to move intermittently throughout day and throughout community
Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum two years of cooking experience
Current Food Handlers permit
Excellent communication skills including the ability to speak, write, and read English
Ability to operate computer and necessary software programs such as word processing, email, and spreadsheets
Professional demeanor when interacting with team members, residents, family, and visitors

Job Duties

Prepare all food items according to planned menus and recipes ensuring meals are appetizing, nutritional, and meet special dietary requests
Ensure all food is served at the correct temperature and properly charted
Ensure proper plate presentation
Consult with the Director of Dining Services on menu changes or substitutions
Maintain clean and organized food storage areas
Prepare food in compliance with government, sanitary, and dietitian regulations
Take care of food orders promptly upon arrival
Dispose of food and waste according to policy
Properly store, label, and date all leftovers
Record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
Supervise servers and dishwashers as needed
Prepare upcoming menu items ensuring proper stock and inventory
Promote a positive and friendly team attitude
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
