Job Requirements
- Meet all position requirements within 30 days of closing date
- work without more than normal supervision
- provide detailed descriptions of relevant training or experience on resume
- experience can include paid, unpaid, or volunteer work
- physical ability to perform work in hot, cold, and noisy kitchen environments
- comply with required dress code including proper hair covering and clean uniform
- wear disposable gloves when handling food and use proper protective equipment for cleaning
- willingness to work in patient care settings with potential exposure to contagious diseases and aggressive behavior
- ability to handle kitchen hazards such as cuts, bruises, strains, burns, and falls
Job Qualifications
- Evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality to perform the duties of the position
- ability to prepare and cook a variety of menu items
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to operate and maintain kitchen production equipment
- capability to follow detailed recipes and portion controls

- capacity to work with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items such as regular and special diet entrees and desserts
- roast, broil, bake, fry, boil, steam, and stew meats, fish, and poultry
- maintain proper temperatures for all foods to ensure optimum quality and food safety
- measure and weigh portions and ingredients according to standardized recipes or diets
- assemble, operate, and clean and sanitize production equipment
- follow safety and sanitation guidelines in all food preparation and kitchen activities
- work collaboratively with other cooks, food service workers, and supervisors under minimal supervision
