Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • at least one year of experience as a cook or in food preparation for large groups
  • knowledge of commercial kitchen standards, food safety, and sanitation procedures
  • ability to work 24 hours per week including every other weekend
  • ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing
  • ability to pass background check
  • commitment to recovery principles and professional conduct
  • no current participation in Heartview Foundation's primary treatment programs

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • at least one year of experience as a cook or in food preparation for large groups
  • Serve Safe certification preferred
  • knowledge of commercial kitchen standards, food safety, and sanitation procedures
  • strong time management and organizational skills
  • ability to communicate respectfully with residents and staff
  • if in recovery, applicants must demonstrate sustained abstinence and stability

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals by following established recipes, measuring and prepping ingredients, and using commercial kitchen equipment
  • ensure all ingredients and finished products are fresh and meet food safety standards
  • maintain inventory at cooking stations and communicate shortages to the Kitchen Manager
  • clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment regularly
  • operate ovens, broilers, grills, fryers, and other commercial equipment safely
