Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- at least one year of experience as a cook or in food preparation for large groups
- knowledge of commercial kitchen standards, food safety, and sanitation procedures
- ability to work 24 hours per week including every other weekend
- ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing
- ability to pass background check
- commitment to recovery principles and professional conduct
- no current participation in Heartview Foundation's primary treatment programs
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- at least one year of experience as a cook or in food preparation for large groups
- Serve Safe certification preferred
- knowledge of commercial kitchen standards, food safety, and sanitation procedures
- strong time management and organizational skills
- ability to communicate respectfully with residents and staff
- if in recovery, applicants must demonstrate sustained abstinence and stability
Job Duties
- Prepare meals by following established recipes, measuring and prepping ingredients, and using commercial kitchen equipment
- ensure all ingredients and finished products are fresh and meet food safety standards
- maintain inventory at cooking stations and communicate shortages to the Kitchen Manager
- clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment regularly
- operate ovens, broilers, grills, fryers, and other commercial equipment safely
