Job Requirements
- Requires food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Minimum of 1 year related cooking experience
- Preferred experience in high volume and casual dining restaurant
- Knowledge of soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry food preparation
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions and correspondence
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand for normal job functions
- Frequent immersion of hands in water and chemical solutions
- Frequent work with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
- Frequent work in a hot environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
- Work experience in a high volume and casual dining restaurant environment preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation pertaining to soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry stations
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents
- Ability to converse comfortably with customers
Job Duties
- Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving food items
- Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies
- Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
- Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices complying with HACCP standards
- Operate a variety of kitchen equipment, measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables
- Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products
- Communicate ticket times and potential problems to the manager on duty and servers as necessary
