Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant kitchen or culinary experience preferred
- ServSafe or equivalent certification for food safety
- Ability to stand for long periods and handle physical demands of cookware and food trays
- Flexibility to work weekends and second shift hours
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and compliance with food safety standards
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to dietary needs
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary school or relevant certification preferred
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification required
- Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a senior living facility or healthcare setting
- Strong culinary skills with proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Adaptable to changing menus and resident dietary preferences
- Effective team player with strong communication and cooperation skills
Job Duties
- Provide excellence in service through meal preparation that positively impacts residents
- Collaborate with Head Chef to develop menus accommodating dietary needs including low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified diets
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards following HACCP principles
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring all equipment functions properly
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff to foster a supportive and efficient team environment
