Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year cooking experience required
  • Food handlers certification required
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including early morning and afternoon
  • Experience in scratch cooking or catering preferred
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Must comply with health and safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Cooking experience required
  • Scratch and/or catering experience strongly preferred
  • Food handlers certification required upon hire
  • Experience working with frail or elderly population preferred
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including every other weekend
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare all hot foods for patient trayline, cafe, and functions including entrees, vegetables, starches, and bakery items
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations
  • Work rotating 8 hour shifts with start times at 4:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and food service staff to ensure timely and quality meal service
  • Adhere to dietary guidelines and special patient meal requirements
  • Participate in inventory management and ingredient preparation
  • Support the catering team with special event food preparation
