Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cooking experience required
  • ability to work full-time Monday through Friday 12:30 pm to 8:30 pm
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation regulations
  • willingness to use personal protective equipment such as cut-resistant gloves and slip-resistant shoes
  • legal authorization to work in the United States
  • ability to perform physical tasks related to cooking and kitchen maintenance

Job Duties

  • Prepares food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and attractive and tasty
  • uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains records from area worked
  • cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • stores or discards excess food according to safe food-handling procedures
  • keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat and ensures food and supply items are stored per standards
  • operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
  • assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required
  • reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to supervisor immediately
  • attends in-service and safety meetings
  • maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
  • commits to personal safety and safety of others
  • abides by company policies including using protective equipment when handling knives and hot pans and wearing slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques
