Job Requirements

  • Previous cooking experience required
  • Must be able to work weekends and nights as needed
  • Ability to work varied shifts
  • Must have attention to detail in food preparation and sanitation
  • Physical capability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security on campus
  • Strong attendance record

Job Qualifications

  • Must be able to read and follow recipes and follow directions
  • Experienced with general kitchen procedures
  • Understands the importance of health department and AVI Fresh food and safety guidelines
  • Must be a team player and perform well in meeting deadlines
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as necessary
  • Must understand the importance of security and confidentiality associated with a university campus
  • Excellent attendance

Job Duties

  • Prepares recipes for meal periods
  • Garnishes and places food items at the appropriate stations
  • Ensures and maintains proper sanitation of the kitchen
  • Uses proper portioning
  • Answers customer questions accurately on menu items
  • Assists in restocking and clean-up of the kitchen and serving stations at the end of the service period
  • Other duties as assigned
