Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to read write speak and understand English
- education or experience sufficient to meet position requirements or as required by State regulations
- holds a food handler's card where required
- meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations
- ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and overtime to meet the requirements of the position
- maintains CPR and/or First Aid Certification as required by State regulations

Job Duties
- Prepares food items and serves food to residents within scheduled timeframe
- follows menu cycle noting changes or substitutions made on proper form
- cleans and maintains a neat safe working environment including the kitchen and food service areas
- maintains inventory control places food order verifies that items are received appropriately and restocks kitchen shelves appropriately
- directs food service and dining service functions
- maintains the quantity of food prepared and samples the food to ensure the quality of the food served to the residents
- reports problems concerns issues observed with food service and communicates them appropriately
- observes changes in resident status needs or preferences and communicates with appropriate team members
- coordinates coverage of the kitchen and works with the Residence Director to develop a schedule that ensures adequate coverage
- maintains clean neat comfortable safe environment for residents staff and visitors
