Job Requirements
- Previous high-volume cook experience is required
- Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday with variable hours
- Must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines, including use of cut gloves, oven mitts, fryer gloves, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques
- Must pass any applicable health and safety standards
- Ability to maintain clean and organized workstations
- Valid work authorization for employment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous high-volume cook experience
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Willingness to attend safety and in-service meetings
- Familiarity with proper use of kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet production schedules
Job Duties
- Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules
- Serve meals or prepare for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
- Taste all prepared food items to ensure quality
- Use established ticket collection procedures during service and maintain accurate records from area worked during service periods
- Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
- Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, ensuring food and supply items are stored per standards
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required
- Assist in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required
- Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately
- Attend in-service and safety meetings
- Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
- Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures
- Follow HACCP standards
- Demonstrate personal commitment to safety of self and others
- Abide by all company policies and procedures including the use of medium weight cut gloves when handling knives and related equipment, oven mitts and fryer gloves when handling hot pans, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques
