Job Requirements

  • Certification in food safety and sanitation
  • Minimum of two years experience in food services in a healthcare facility
  • Ability to read, write and communicate the English language
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Ability to deal tactfully with diverse personnel and the public
  • Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with staff
  • Ability to seek out and incorporate new methods into practices

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the preparation and distribution of all food production in the dietary department
  • Supervise all dietary department personnel in the absence of the Food Service Director
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Communicate tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
  • Implement new methods and principles to improve dietary practices
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Manage daily kitchen operations including handling of cooking equipment and chemicals
