Job Requirements
- Certification in food safety and sanitation
- Minimum of two years experience in food services in a healthcare facility
- Ability to read, write and communicate the English language
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Ability to deal tactfully with diverse personnel and the public
- Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with staff
- Ability to seek out and incorporate new methods into practices
Job Qualifications
- Certification in food safety and sanitation
- Minimum of two years experience working in food services in a healthcare facility
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Leadership ability and willingness to supervise professional and nonprofessional personnel
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Willingness to adopt new methods and principles for continuous improvement
Job Duties
- Responsible for the preparation and distribution of all food production in the dietary department
- Supervise all dietary department personnel in the absence of the Food Service Director
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
- Communicate tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
- Implement new methods and principles to improve dietary practices
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Manage daily kitchen operations including handling of cooking equipment and chemicals
