Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • Minimum two years experience in food preparation and kitchen practices
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English
  • Ability to read and follow instructions, recipe books, menus, and food labels
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work well with elderly individuals
  • May require valid First Aid Certification

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • At least two years of experience in food preparation, kitchen safety, sanitation, and menu planning
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions and recipes accurately
  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills to work well with elderly populations
  • Experience in senior care industry is preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare nutritious, heart-healthy meals for residents, prospective residents, families, and guests
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are maintained in the kitchen
  • Assist with food purchasing and inventory management
  • Follow recipes, menus, and food labels accurately
  • Collaborate with the Director of Dining Services and team members to plan menus
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude towards all individuals, particularly seniors
