Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ cooking experience in institutional or full-service restaurant settings
  • current Food Handlers Permit as required by state regulations
  • meet state health-related and certification requirements
  • ability to follow recipes, perform measurements, and adjust quantities as needed
  • demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • team-oriented, compassionate, and committed to excellence in senior living services

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals according to Brightwater menus and recipes, adhering to dietary requirements and physician orders
  • maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and dining environment
  • inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure compliance with food safety practices
  • bake, roast, broil, and steam various foods, and regulate cooking equipment temperatures
  • portion, arrange, and garnish food attractively and in a timely manner
  • carry out scheduled cleaning, stocking, and maintenance tasks as directed by the Chef
  • receive, prepare, and serve food and beverage orders in the bistro
  • attend scheduled training sessions and staff meetings
  • communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, keeping them informed of any challenges or opportunities for improvement
