Job Requirements

  • Must have food handlers certification compliant with state requirements
  • Must have previous experience in a supervisory culinary role preferred
  • Must have at least 1-3 years of related progressive experience or culinary degree with experience
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Must be able to work well in stressful high-pressure situations

Job Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
  • At least 1-3 years of related progressive experience or a culinary graduate with at least 1 year of experience in a hotel or related field
  • Food Handlers Certification compliant with state requirements
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well in stressful high-pressure situations
  • Initiative in job performance including anticipating needs

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly service-oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hyatt standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing the proper uniform and nametag
  • Comply with Hyatt standards and regulations for safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Comply with certification requirements including Food Handlers Safety
  • Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times
  • Have a thorough working knowledge of menus and preparation required
  • Ensure completion of necessary food and station preparations prior to open
  • Assist and supervise on kitchen line during operating hours to maintain efficiency and quality
  • Support any position in the kitchen as needed
  • Supervise and assist in food preparation for Banquets and Employee Cafeteria following specifications
  • Ensure food is prepared following Hyatt standard recipes
  • Maintain the 'Clean as You Go' policy and sanitation schedules
  • Supervise and assist with breakdown of buffets and kitchen lines
  • Ensure safe work habits are practiced at all times
  • Enforce all hotel policies and house rules
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures
  • Ensure attentiveness, helpfulness, and courtesy of employees
  • Aid in food security including locking storerooms
  • Maintain orderliness of the Employee Break room
  • Maintain and improve high food quality standards
  • Keep storage areas clean and organized
  • Assist in training staff on kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Attend meetings and perform other duties as required by management
