Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking or culinary experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings and afternoons
- Must be able to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license or state ID
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards

- Ability to interact with people in a positive and supportive manner
- Encouraged but not required upon hire: First Aid/CPR certification
Job Duties
- Work with coworkers in a team environment that promotes positive service qualities and respect of residents
- Review production information with staff on daily basis
- Ensure and monitor correct quantities of production and portioning
- Monitor and record production and waste data in absence of Executive Chef
- Prepare all food items in accordance to department standards
- Ensure food retains nutritional value, attractive appearance, and palatability and is served at appropriate temperature
- Follow proper guidelines to meet special dietary needs
- Responsible for overall cleanliness of kitchen including washing dishes, cleaning floors and countertops, disinfecting necessary areas, and maintaining clean mats
- Responsible for overall cleanliness of dining room including changing tablecloths, vacuuming after meals, and keeping salad bar area clean
- Ensure staff adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain safe, clean, and orderly work environment
- Guide, assist and instruct other staff to ensure smooth and orderly completion of assignments
- Plan and organize work schedule to prepare food timely
- Serve as designated person in charge in absence of manager(s)
- Perform additional tasks as directed by manager or person in charge
- Perform other duties as assigned
