Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ANSI ServeSafe Manager Certification required within 30 days of hire
- state fingerprint card saved with Huger Mercy Living Center director
- Food Handlers Permit

- four years experience in food service preferred
- minimum two years institutional cooking experience preferred
Job Duties
- Determine type and quantities of meats, vegetables, soups etc. to prepare
- plan cooking schedules to ensure all food is ready at specified times
- measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment
- bake, roast, broil and steam meats, fish and other foods
- carve portions of meat, fish and other foods according to proper procedure and portion control
- test food being prepared to ensure proper taste, texture, temperature and appearance
