Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food preparation or culinary roles
- knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- ability to follow established recipes and portion controls
- good communication skills
- ability to work well with others
- basic record keeping ability
- ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
- availability to work scheduled shifts including opening and closing
- willingness to comply with uniform and safety regulations
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service
- prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
- utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production
- utilize safe food handling techniques at all times
- store food items according to established standards of practice including proper labeling and dating
- hold prepared food items at appropriate temperatures below 40 degrees if cold, above 135 degrees if hot
- maintain production records including food usage, overages, shortages, customer counts
- maintain established logs such as food, cooling, cooler and freezer temperatures
- maintain a clean and sanitized work area
- follow established work rules and regulations, ready for work in the kitchen, in uniform, at the scheduled time
- properly open and/or close the kitchen when required
- maintain a safe, tidy and well-organized work environment
- communicate needs and concerns regarding food production and kitchen operation to the supervisor
- monitor kitchen equipment for proper functioning and report any issues
- support other kitchen employees in assuring essential kitchen functions are performed
- be proactive in communication
- assist management personnel in ordering and inventory procedures
- removal of refuse as needed
- putting away/pulling stock as needed
- for those in lead roles, provide leadership and instruction, keep management apprised of overall operations, refer information to higher level manager/supervisor and perform other duties as assigned
