Job Requirements
- One year of specialized experience related to food preparation
- Experience equivalent to the next lower level in the normal progression
- Ability to perform duties stated in the job description
- Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
- Must be suitable for federal employment
- May be required to complete probationary period
- Required to participate in direct deposit pay program
- Possession of Social Security Card
- Must complete employment verification (E-VERIFY)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background check

Job Qualifications
- One year of specialized experience in food preparation related to the duties described
- Basic knowledge of food preparation principles and cooking methods
- Understanding of physical changes during food processing and cooking
- Knowledge of meal planning and coordination of multiple food items
- Ability to evaluate food freshness and quality
- Familiarity with standard formulas used in yield testing
- Knowledge of food safety, food spoilage, and prevention of foodborne illness
- Experience in ordering and storing food items according to inventory and sanitation requirements
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of regular and special menu items including entrees and desserts
- Evaluate the freshness and quality of raw and cooked food items
- Apply knowledge of food preparation principles to ensure proper cooking and food safety
- Schedule and coordinate the preparation of multiple food items to produce meals on time
- Maintain inventory control by ordering, issuing, and storing food items according to sanitation requirements
- Follow standard formulas used in yield testing
- Ensure compliance with food safety laws and prevent foodborne illnesses
