Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum age of 18 years
  • one year of proven cooking experience
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • prior experience in a cafeteria or large volume production kitchen preferred
  • knowledge of safety procedures in food service environment
  • physical ability to stand and be on feet for extended shifts

Job Qualifications

  • at least one year of relevant cooking experience
  • prior kitchen or cafeteria experience in a large-volume production facility is a plus
  • knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
  • ability to follow recipes and kitchen protocols
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • dependable and flexible work attitude

Job Duties

  • Refers to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift and completes opening and closing checklists daily
  • sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • safely uses a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items
  • operates kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • follows standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen rules
  • handles, stores, labels, and rotates products in compliance with state laws
  • stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations
  • understands menu items and is responsible for prepping ingredients
  • multitasks effectively in a high-volume kitchen
  • handles hot and cold work conditions during food preparation
  • meets physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • performs other related duties as assigned
