Job Requirements

  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must be well-groomed and act professionally
  • Must be a team player who works well with others
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English
  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products
  • Must live in service area
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods
  • Required to complete an approved sanitation and safety course within 60 days

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course within 60 days
  • Specialized training in foodservice (preferred)
  • Experience working in facilities utilizing quantity food production methods
  • Knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve food including texture modified and therapeutic diets according to facility menu
  • Prepare food in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and guidelines
  • Assist in proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures
  • Assist dietary aides as necessary and direct other employees with approval
  • Follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving
  • Maintain neat, clean, and professional appearance
  • Interact positively with residents, clients, and other personnel
