Job Requirements
- Equivalent to 2 to 3 years experience in food service
- Certified as Food Safety Manager by National Registry of Food and Safety Professionals
- Complete understanding of HACCP food safety
- Ability to work mornings, evenings, and rotating weekend/holiday shifts
- Ability to adhere to organizational values of compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence
- Ability to perform food preparation duties accurately and safely
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and cooking operations
- Certified as Food Safety Manager by National Registry of Food and Safety Professionals
- Understanding of HACCP food safety principles
- Equivalent to 2 to 3 years experience in food service
- Ability to follow recipes and adjust seasoning
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
Job Duties
- Review menus and work orders to determine type and quantity of meats, vegetables, soups, salads and desserts to be prepared
- Plan cooking schedule to ensure that food is ready at specified times and that the nutritional quality, flavor and appearance is maintained
- Estimate food quantities and control serving portions to minimize waste and leftovers
- Confer with Food Service Supervisor regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers
- Procure or supervise procurement of food from refrigerator, freezer or other storage areas
- Trim and cut meat and fowl
- Prepare or supervise washing, trimming, cooking, and seasoning of food items
