Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
 - Proven experience in cooking for large groups
 - Ability to read and write English
 - Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
 - Ability to handle kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, and stoves
 - Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
 - Strong interpersonal and communication skills
 - Must maintain sanitation and food safety standards
 - Willingness to work with elderly and vulnerable populations
 
Job Qualifications
- Experience and/or knowledge of meal preparation for large groups
 - Ability to read and understand recipes
 - Ability to work effectively in a team environment
 - Ability to work flexible shifts
 - Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
 - Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
 - Must enjoy working with elderly individuals
 - Ability to interact sensitively with ill, disabled, emotional, or hostile elderly residents
 - Ability to accept constructive criticism
 - Professional appearance and positive attitude
 - Ability to treat all residents with dignity and respect
 - Willingness to wear a uniform if required
 
Job Duties
- Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts in appropriate portions
 - Maintains sanitation standards as required by licenses and regulations
 - Cleans work areas, utensils, and equipment with assistance
 - Ensures all inventories are rotated according to dates and freshness
 - Notifies Food Service Director when supplies are needed
 - Stores food and checks supplies upon delivery in absence of the Food Service Director
 - Encourages feedback from residents, guests, and staff to improve food quality and service
 - Supports other departments to improve overall resident satisfaction
 - Provides good communication to all involved in service delivery to residents
 - Performs other assigned duties
