Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior food production experience
  • ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • basic math skills
  • knowledge of food safety and special diets
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • ability to push food carts
  • ability to lift up to 35 lbs
  • ability to work in hot or cold environments
  • physically able to meet job demands
  • experience in healthcare or senior care settings preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Prior food production experience preferably in healthcare or senior living
  • ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • basic math skills for portioning and simple calculations
  • knowledge of food safety and special diets
  • strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

Job Duties

  • Prepare food according to recipes, dietary guidelines, and production sheets
  • ensure food meets standards for portion control, temperature, and presentation
  • maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area
  • stock and organize kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment for efficient workflow
  • utilize leftovers effectively by creating marketable dishes
  • complete production and tally sheets accurately
  • report malfunctioning equipment or food shortages promptly
  • follow all safety and food handling policies
  • reduce waste through proper portion control and efficient production
  • deliver and manage meals for several floors, pushing meal carts and ensuring timely service
  • build rapport with residents by learning and honoring their individual meal preferences
  • collaborate with the culinary team and complete related tasks as assigned
