- Current Food Handlers card or ability to obtain one issued by local health department
- prior cooking experience in a skilled nursing environment preferred
Job Qualifications
- Current Food Handlers card or ability to obtain one issued by local health department
- prior cooking experience in a skilled nursing environment preferred
- knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygienic methods of food preparation and storage
- competency in operating kitchen equipment
- interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Prepare pre-planned cycle menus in an efficient and effective manner
- perform food preparation tasks as assigned
- read production orders on tray cards
- determine if the food prepared is of the highest possible quality in taste and flavor
- assist in planning cooking schedules
- confirm foods are ready on time for tray service
- maintain and improve standards of food storage, preparation, and services
- assist in checking food supplies on food order forms
- push carts to halls or kitchen
- maintain cleanliness and orderliness
