Job Requirements

  • At least one year of previous cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to work on an on-call schedule with varying days and hours
  • Must be able to follow company policies and procedures including food safety practices
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Must maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members
  • Must be willing to attend safety and in-service meetings
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks including standing for long periods
  • Willingness to abide by all safety and hygiene protocols

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of previous cooking experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and kitchen procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic record keeping and inventory management skills

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning and maintaining proper temperature
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
  • Cleans kitchen and maintains high standards of cleanliness
  • Stores or discards excess food according to safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment properly
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting
  • Assists in ordering and receiving food and supplies
  • Reports maintenance needs, faulty equipment, or accidents to supervisor immediately
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
  • Performs job safely maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Ensures proper presentation and portion control
  • Follows HACCP standards
  • Commits personally to safety and abides by all company policies including the use of protective gloves and proper lifting techniques
