Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Graduation from a recognized culinary school or two years of food production experience
- Ability to read, write, follow written or oral instructions, and be understood in English
- Basic computer skills
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job
- State of California Food Handler certification must be obtained within three months of hire
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Graduation from a recognized culinary school or two years of food production experience
- Ability to read, write, follow written or oral instructions, and be understood in English
- Basic computer skills
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job
- Two years of college or equivalent preferred
- Experience in large scale food production settings using industrial equipment preferred
- Servsafe certification preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare food for patient food services, retail food services, and catering services
- Stock, assemble, and serve portion-controlled hot and cold foods
- Replenish and stock stations
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of foodservice areas and equipment
- Establish and monitor food quality and temperature standards
- Provide excellent customer, patient, and staff interactions
- Work as part of a team to ensure timely and responsive food service
