Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- current food handler's permit
- recent TB test result or ability to obtain within two weeks of hire
- previous experience in food preparation preferred
- ability to communicate effectively with elderly residents and staff
- physical ability to perform kitchen duties
- commitment to sanitation and safety standards
- positive attitude and teamwork skills
- willingness to work flexible hours
Job Qualifications
- Must possess a current food handler's permit
- have the ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, supervisors, and associates
- must provide written proof of recent TB test or obtain within two weeks of date of hire
- must be positive and deliver a wow experience through service
- performs unpleasant tasks with grace
- works cooperatively with supervisors and displays willingness to assist co-workers
- willingness to work with the elderly
Job Duties
- Prepares all food according to the menu in a safe, sanitary manner under the direction of the dining services coordinator/manager
- maintaining kitchen sanitation and safety standards under the direction of the dining services coordinator
- prepares and cooks meals for residents within an assisted living and memory care community as well as maintain standards of kitchen cleanliness
- follows departmental procedures including sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules
- report any concerns with the health and well-being to the resident care coordinator or nurse
- maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information at all times
- meet or exceed the standards of appearance
- comply with the sanitation rules, hygiene and health standards of community personnel
