Job Requirements
- Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards required
- Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience required
- Food knowledge pertaining to soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry required
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents is required
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds required
- Ability to bend, twist and stand to perform normal job functions required
- Frequent immersion of hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions is required
- Frequent work with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates is required
- Frequent work in hot environment is required
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
- Work experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation and HACCP standards
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
- Comfortable conversing with individuals
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand for job functions
Job Duties
- Follows recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food and beverage products
- Tastes products, follows menus, estimates food requirements, checks production and keeps records for production planning and requisition of supplies and equipment
- Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment
- Practices excellent food safety and sanitation practices and complies with HACCP standards
- Operates a variety of kitchen equipment, measures and mixes ingredients, washes, peels, cuts and shreds fruits and vegetables
- Stocks, dates, rotates, and checks temperature of product
- Other duties as assigned
