Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years experience in food service field
  • Valid ServSafe Food Handler certification
  • Knowledge of institutional and school nutrition guidelines
  • Experience in large scale meal preparation
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to work under moderate to loud noise
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Two years experience in food service field
  • Valid ServSafe Food Handler certification
  • Knowledge of institutional and school nutrition guidelines
  • Experience in large scale meal preparation
  • Full knowledge and practice of food safety, storage, and inspection requirements
  • Culinary Arts Certification preferred
  • Two years food preparation experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare, cook, and serve daily meals
  • Follow strict documentation for food storage, inventory, temperatures, cleaning, sanitation, and food disposal
  • Support and maintain a safe, congenial teamwork environment
  • Observe kitchen and dining sanitary standards and report discrepancies
  • Maintain accountability for knives and cutting tools
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and participate in daily cleaning
  • Model positive behavior and conflict resolution skills
  • Promote a harassment-free environment
  • Participate in department meetings and required training
  • Utilize information systems and handle student data in accordance with policies
  • Adhere to servant leadership culture values
