Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Proven experience as a cook in a fast-food or restaurant setting, preferably with Mexican cuisine
  • Basic understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to work in a hot, noisy, and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a cook in a fast-food or restaurant setting, preferably with Mexican cuisine
  • Knowledge of traditional Mexican cooking methods and recipes
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
  • Basic understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Culinary training is a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food items such as tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and other menu items according to standardized recipes and restaurant specifications
  • Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including cooking stations and utensils
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items
  • Assist in the prep work, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces and salsas
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies as needed
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quick service
  • Ensure the correct portioning of food to maintain consistency in taste and presentation
  • Handle special dietary requests or modifications to dishes as per customer needs
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, countertops, and workstations after each shift
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while operating kitchen appliances
  • Keep up to date with food trends and incorporate new ideas to improve menu offerings
