Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification
  • college credits or relevant technical training courses preferred
  • prior cooking and correctional food service training preferred
  • minimum two years experience in quantity food production or management
  • strong communication skills
  • must be 21 years or older
  • physical ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs
  • able to stand, bend, stoop, reach, walk, and work under varying temperature conditions

Job Qualifications

  • prior cooking and correctional food service training preferred
  • minimum two years prior experience in managing and/or quantity food production in commercial, military, or institutional settings
  • excellent communication skills to inform personnel of production and service requirements
  • must be at least 21 years old

Job Duties

  • Prepare food according to the menu plan
  • manage inventory including placing and receiving orders for food and supplies
  • ensure food quality and schedule preparations
  • guide and train employees
  • maintain high standards of sanitation and safety
  • train inmate or detainee food service workers and inspect their work
