Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of cooking experience in a large-volume, high-quality food service operation, or 3 years with graduation from a certified culinary school
  • ServSafe Certification preferred or ability to obtain
  • Strong ability to follow recipes and produce consistent, high-quality meals
  • Ability to work on your feet and manage multiple responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals following approved recipes and dietary guidelines
  • Create and present meals of high quality, with attention to taste, appearance, and nutrition
  • Manage time effectively to complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and supervisors to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Assist in all phases of food service within the Food & Nutrition Department
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, following HAACP guidelines and personal hygiene protocols
  • Wear appropriate uniform and adhere to departmental policies and schedules
  • Treat patients, guests, and coworkers with respect and courtesy
  • Make recommendations to improve food quality and department performance
  • Take accountability for food preparation and its impact on departmental success
