Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • minimum two years cooking experience or associate’s degree in culinary arts
  • ability to pass written and practical test
  • thorough knowledge of cooking styles and recipes
  • excellent customer service orientation
  • ability to read, write, and follow instructions
  • current Serve-Safe certification preferred
  • ability to work standing for entire shift
  • ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently
  • willingness to wear personal protective equipment during shift

Job Qualifications

  • thorough knowledge of cooking styles and standardized recipes

Job Duties

  • Review menus and production sheets to determine food preparation requirements
  • bake, roast, broil, saute, and steam various foods to maintain quality
  • slice and portion meats, fish, and poultry accurately for serving
  • facilitate meal production on the tray line
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the cooking area
  • adhere to health and safety regulations and regulatory agency requirements
  • attend in-service education and meetings as directed
  • demonstrate commitment to the organization’s mission and values
  • maintain knowledge of applicable laws, policies, and ethical standards
  • provide excellent customer service
  • perform additional duties as assigned and assist other associates
