Job Requirements
- Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision
- Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. other than blueprint reading
- Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment
- Dexterity and safety awareness
- Knowledge of materials used in food service
- Understanding of technical and precise food service practices
- Practices for keeping work areas neat, clean, and in order
- Experience or training sufficient to perform the duties
- Part-time or full-time experience recognized based on hours worked per week

Job Duties
- Prepare regular or special diet foods and meals for Veterans
- Receive, store, scale, and organize subsistence and kitchen food supplies
- Distribute food and supplies efficiently according to scheduled needs
- Take inventory and maintain accurate records of kitchen supplies and subsistence
- Ensure sanitary and safety compliance in all food handling and storage practices
- Use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment properly
- Interpret instructions and specifications related to meal preparation and food service
