Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification
  • Proven cooking experience preferably in senior living or healthcare
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Physical stamina to lift and handle heavy kitchen equipment and supplies
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing dietary needs and schedules
  • Team player with good communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary school education or relevant certification preferred
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification required
  • Proven experience as a cook preferably in senior living, healthcare, or similar environment
  • Strong culinary skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
  • Ability to adapt to dietary restrictions and special menu needs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Provide excellence in service by preparing meals that positively impact resident satisfaction
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop menus that meet special dietary requirements
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations including HACCP principles
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment ensuring all equipment is functioning properly
  • Work collaboratively as part of a cohesive team to foster a supportive kitchen atmosphere
  • Adapt to changing menus and resident dietary needs
  • Assist in inventory control and kitchen supply management
