Job Requirements

  • Food handling certifications that apply
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Ability to work a full shift, come to work on time and work overtime as needed
  • Work with integrity in all interactions
  • The ability to work according to the necessary schedule with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Prefer past experience in this position though flexibility, quick learning and hard work are valued
  • Proven past experience
  • Ability to communicate and listen and execute effectively
  • Complete training or certifications in CPR, HIPAA, HIV/AIDS, Verbal De-Escalation, Incident Reporting, Infection/STD Risks, HEP B/C, and Abuse, Neglect, Trauma, and Exploitation
  • Physical ability to frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as necessary

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience with food preparation including cooking and plating meals
  • Experience with dining services in a Chef, Cook, Sous Chef or Dietary Aide role
  • Ability to communicate and listen effectively
  • Demonstrate humility
  • Express compassion for residents, staff and guests
  • Work harmoniously with other employees and maintain good employee relations and morale
  • Appropriate attitude and mindset for fast pace environment

Job Duties

  • Properly store and dispose of food
  • Ensure health and sanitation standards are in compliance with regulations
  • Aid culinary team in preparing dishes to recipe
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff team members
  • Aid culinary team in garnishing and plating of dishes
  • Help cleaning and organizing in the kitchen
  • Knowledge of scheduling and food inventory
